This open box Juniper FFANTRAY-MX960-HC is the high-capacity fan tray designed exclusively for the Juniper MX960 Universal Edge Router. Housing twelve fans in a single tray, this unit delivers the elevated airflow required to sustain full-density line card configurations including high-density DPCs and MPCs. The tray installs in either the upper or lower fan tray slot of the MX960 chassis and has been professionally tested and inspected prior to shipment.The FFANTRAY-MX960-HC is hot-insertable and hot-removable, allowing replacement without interrupting live network operations. Air enters through a single front intake, travels up through the card cage, and exhausts out the upper rear of the chassis — a well-established front-to-rear cooling architecture designed to protect high-density routing hardware in continuous operation. The host subsystem actively monitors component temperatures and automatically adjusts fan speed; if ambient temperatures exceed threshold, the system can safely disable output power to prevent hardware damage.
