This refurbished Cisco ASR1002-X is a 2-rack-unit aggregation services router built for enterprise and service provider edge deployments. The unit ships with six built-in Gigabit Ethernet SFP ports, integrated hardware-based cryptographic acceleration, and dual field-replaceable power supplies. Every unit at WhaleyComm is professionally tested, reset to factory defaults, and inspected before shipment.The ASR1002-X integrates the route processor, Embedded Services Processor, and SPA Interface Processor directly into the chassis. The ESP delivers a default forwarding bandwidth of 5 Gbps, software-upgradeable to 10, 20, or 36 Gbps through Cisco feature licensing — no hardware swap required. Hardware-based encryption provides up to 4 Gbps of cryptographic bandwidth. Three SPA bays support half-height and full-height Shared Port Adapters for flexible WAN and LAN interface expansion. The platform runs Cisco IOS XE, delivering advanced services including hardware-accelerated IPsec VPN, Zone-Based Firewall, NAT, QoS, NetFlow, MPLS, and deep packet inspection natively in the data plane.

The ASR1002-X ships with a default forwarding bandwidth of 5 Gbps from its integrated Embedded Services Processor. Through Cisco software feature licenses, the ESP can be upgraded to 10 Gbps, 20 Gbps, or 36 Gbps without any hardware replacement. Licenses are sold separately by Cisco.
The ASR1002-X ships with 4 GB of DRAM shared across the route processor, ESP, and SIP. The memory module is field-replaceable and can be upgraded to 8 GB or 16 GB. The router also includes 8 GB of eUSB bulk flash storage.
The six built-in ports are Gigabit Ethernet SFP. To add 10GE connectivity, a 10-Gigabit Ethernet Shared Port Adapter must be installed into one of the three available SPA expansion slots. SFP+ uplink capability via SPA is supported.
