The AFI designation means back-to-front (FRU-to-port) airflow — cool air is drawn in from the rear and exhausted through the front port side. This is the correct configuration for cold-aisle intake / hot-aisle exhaust rack designs. If your rack uses front-to-back airflow, you would need the AFO variant instead.
